Artist Bio
I've painted basically my entire life. It was always something I did for fun. Sometimes just putting brush to paint and canvas calms me down. I've always created art. For most of my adult life I was a professional freelance graphic designer working in the entertainment field and that satisfied my need to create. When I sold my last business--the dinner theater, TheatreNOW--I did not have a graphic design outlet any longer. The selling of the business and the onset of the Covid pandemic found me wanting to create again so picked up paints and brushes and started back. A watercolor workshop with acclaimed artist, Janice Castiglione in Wilmington NC, got me excited about this "new-to-me" medium and I've been back to painting in earnest. My first "show" was thru the Cameron Art Museum School's Student-Teacher Exhibit where my teacher (Castiglione), chose me to exhibit with her. Coincidentally my piece "Skywatch Emu" was exhibited in a gallery named after my mother, MC Erny. I guess it was all meant to be! Since then I have been showing around the Wilmington, NC area with various art organizations and am working on a solo show I hope to exhibit sometime in 2026.
2025 found me writing and illustrating my first (and probably only!) children's book. Look for more information later in 2026!
