Biography.Asheville, NC is where I was born and I basically grew up on or backstage at Asheville Community Theater. I won awards in sports and the arts and for performing Shakespeare in junior high and high school before going on to college in Boston. After two degrees and a couple years living in London, I settled in Wilmington, NC and worked as a talent agent for film and television actors and as an entertainment promotions specialist and graphic designer with my company, imageBLEND promotions. In 2011, I started construction on a dinner theater in downtown Wilmington, NC and TheatreNOW opened in July of 2012 and closed in August of 2019 and sold in early 2020. I also founded the not-for-profit group, Theatre Network of Wilmington/Superstar Academy, for the promotion of theater arts education for youth and underserved populations. I am also executive producing a multimedia project aimed to promote prominent women in the Wilmington, NC community entitled the Women of Wilmington (WOW) Project (www.womenofwilmington.com) and produced a short video of prominent Wilmington women in the arts in 2010/11. In 2015 and 2019, I was nominated for an YWCA Woman of Achievement Award in the Arts.
Recent film & tv credits include Disney's Haunted Mansion, Netflix's Outer Banks, Ozark, and Along for the Ride, FOX's Welcome to Flatch, Tyler Perry's Haves and Have Nots and All the Queen's Men, HULU's The Act opposite Patricia Arquette, ABC's Good Girls opposite Mae Whitman, feature films The Glorias, Fist Fist opposite Ice Cube and Charlie Day, Megan Leavey with Kate Mara, a scene with Jake Gyllenhal in Prisoners, Wilmington produced feature film, Bolden, ABC's Secrets & Lies opposite Juliette Lewis, Piranha 3DD, the Sequel opposite David Hasselhoff, The Bay (aka ISOPODS) with director, Barry Levinson, two episodes of HBO's Eastbound and Down opposite Lily Tomlin, the pilot episode of Witches of East End for Lifetime, Hallmark's Christmas in Harmony, and several independent shorts, trailers and pilots. I also spent a couple months as Melissa McCarthy's stand-in/double in the feature, Tammy and you may catch me in a Planter's Peanut Commercial, a Duke Energy spot, United States Marine Corps, Red Hat, or a South Carolina Education Lottery Commercial. Favorite theatrical performances include roles in Into the Woods, Shakespeare in Love, Ruthless, Rocky Horror Show, Hair, Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Footloose, Steel Magnolias, A Midsummer Night's Eve, Deathtrap, Streetcar Named Desire, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and my many roles in children's theatre with Pied Piper Children's Theatre in Wilmington, NC. I co-produced and directed Songs for a New World, and directed Clue: the Musical, Barefoot in the Park, The Odd Couple, and Nuptials for theatre companies in Wilmington, NC and oversaw a development of Blue Velvet, the Musical (www.bluevelvetmusical.com) which had a workshop preview in 2011 during the Cucalorus Film Festival and a concert in 2014. I am also a past Chair of the board of Dram Tree Shakespeare in Wilmington, NC. Currently I serve on the Board of Directors of the Arts Council of Wilmington and on the Board of Trustees for Thalian Hall Center for the Performing Arts, Inc. in Wilmington. In early 2012, I adopted newborn son, Ashton, and we live in Wilmington, NC with our rescue Shiba Inu, Adrian. I enjoy reading, cooking, making jewelry, the Boston Red Sox, traveling, and spending time with my son. |
